A Legacy of Craftmanship
TreHus was founded in 1982 by Dave Amundson, a descendant of Norwegian craftsmen who ran Amundson Boat Works on White Bear Lake in the 1920s. There, they designed and built handcrafted sailboats and rowboats. Their legendary craftsmanship is the legacy that guides everything we do at TreHus. Our company name — Norwegian for “house of wood” — reflects this heritage and our commitment to thoughtful, lasting work.
This tradition continues through our Master Carpenter system, which allows our carpenters to focus entirely on their craft while project managers handle the details. From these roots, TreHus has grown into a full-service design-build remodeling company, where architects, designers, and craftsmen work together to ensure every project reflects skill, care, and exceptional quality.
