Asian-Influenced Victorian
Previous residents of this home had completed a family room addition and kitchen remodel that were disparate from the rest of the home’s character and detail. In the new kitchen, custom cabinets and millwork were installed to match the old-world craftsmanship of the existing home, and design elements such as pagoda-style cabinet pulls, the island’s bamboo butcher block top and the hutch’s rice paper windows reflect the owners’ Asian-influenced tastes.

Kitchen Remodel & Dining Room Addition
This design brings the homeowners an elegant and spacious new area in which they can enjoy simple family dinners or large parties. By linking the kitchen to the living area with a new dining room, the TreHus team created a space that can be used either as a set of three smaller rooms or one large whole. In the dining room, spherical light fixtures hang from the barrel-vaulted ceiling, creating a curvy design theme with the round window. The new island and buffet areas add storage and counter space, and their natural wood tones add to the aesthetic appeal of the space.

Prairie Style Addition and Kitchen Remodel
In this addition and kitchen remodel, TreHus removed a wall that separated the dining room from the kitchen, and carried the dining room's beamed ceiling and Prairie Style details from walls and hutches into the kitchen. An oak peninsula separates the two spaces while leaving them visually open, and a small addition lengthened the existing kitchen.

Historic Kitchen Remodel
This home was remodeled in accordance with the guidelines of the Minneapolis Historic Preservation Commission to ensure an authentic old-world feel. The painted and detailed cabinets, marble countertops, wide plank pine flooring and wood paneling were chosen to complement the style of the house.

1980's Kitchen Remodel
In this kitchen remodel, 1980's oak cabinets and laminate countertops were replaced with dark-stained cherry cabinets and granite tops. A contrasting pigment-stained island augments working space and storage, while large windows let in light and provide panoramic views of the wooded lot.

Interplay of Colors and Materials
The unique blend of colors and materials in this kitchen remodel work together to create a colorful and interesting but cohesive whole. The light celery colored cabinets contrast with the deep blue of the island and the brown of the oak floor, while the texture of the granite countertops is juxtaposed against the butcher block top of the island with it's carerra marble inset.

Modern Kitchen Remodel
Removing the interior walls between the kitchen, dining, and living areas created a large open space. Because the roof of this home was built with roof trusses that spanned from exterior wall to exterior wall, opening up the space from the front of the house to the back was structurally simple to do. Full height cabinetry on both ends of the kitchen and dining room area aesthetically anchors the space. Walnut floors add a warm natural element to the space.
